Pepsi was a primary sponsor for Nigerian Idol, and needed to create a way to leverage their association with the platform beyond brand collaterals on the show. We were tasked with developing a product that would allow their brand to connect with young Nigerians, using music as the conduit.
We developed a Facebook Quiz Application tagged “Pepsi Idol”. The app was a music quiz challenge that was embedded on Pepsi’s Facebook page to spark fan engagement with the brand. Users were given a set of music related quiz questions to answer within a time limit, and were rewarded with fun prizes. The App was a success for the brand, as it was a direct relationship with the Nigerian Idol brand. Our client was also able to gather a large amount of database information from their consumers and potential consumers.
